The Harvard Interdisciplinary Center for Polycystic Kidney Disease Research was established by funding from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) via the P50 mechanism (2005-2010).

The central goal of the Harvard Interdisciplinary Center of Polycystic Kidney Disease is to provide shared resources to enhance communication and collaboration between researchers who are interested in the studies of any one or more molecular mechanisms underlying various forms of PKD, and to identify and evaluate novel therapeutic targets to ultimately achieving the goal of developing new therapy for the disease.
